Singapore has emerged as a key hub for analyzing the shifting priorities of Muslim travelers worldwide, with new research revealing a growing demand for ethical and immersive experiences. The Mastercard-CrescentRating Halal Travel Trends 2025 report, developed in collaboration with the Pacific Asia Travel Association, indicates that nearly a third of Muslim travelers now prioritize culinary authenticity (29%) and sustainable tourism practices (28%), signaling a broader shift toward purpose-driven journeys.

The study highlights how modern Muslim travelers are moving beyond conventional tourism, seeking experiences that align with their values. Educational and awareness-based travel has gained prominence, with 72% of industry experts identifying regenerative tourism as the next major trend in responsible travel. This shift reflects a deeper desire for trips that foster cultural exchange and environmental stewardship.

Fazal Bahardeen, CEO of CrescentRating & Halaltrip, emphasized the report’s role in decoding evolving consumer behavior. “Our research, anchored by the Global Muslim Travel Index, provides critical insights into the RIDA Framework—Responsible, Immersive, Digital, and Assured travel,” he stated. The findings underscore the need for destinations and businesses to adapt to these preferences to remain competitive in a rapidly changing market.

As the halal travel sector expands, the report serves as a roadmap for industry stakeholders looking to cater to this influential demographic. With sustainability and cultural immersion at the forefront, destinations that embrace these values stand to gain a significant advantage. The full report offers further analysis on how faith and adventure are converging in today’s travel landscape.
